This Privacy Policy explains how Harbuch Electronics (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you visit our website at https://harbuch.com.au. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you are located outside Australia, this policy also explains how your information is handled when you use our site.
Who we are
Our website address is: https://harbuch.com.au.
Harbuch Electronics is located at 1/2-8 Campbell St, Artarmon NSW 2064, Australia.
For any privacy questions or requests, contact our Privacy Officer at sales@harbuch.com.au or 02 9476-5854.
Personal information we collect
Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. The types of personal information we collect depend on how you interact with our site, and may include your name, email address, website address, IP address, browser details and any other information you choose to provide to us.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information only where it is necessary to operate our website, where you have consented, or where the law requires or permits it.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Our website is hosted and operated using third-party service providers, which may include WordPress, hosting providers, and email services. These providers may process personal information on our behalf, subject to contractual obligations to protect it.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Some of our service providers are located outside Australia, including in the United States. Where we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the recipient does not breach the Australian Privacy Principles in relation to that information, as required by APP 8. You acknowledge that the overseas recipient may not be subject to the Privacy Act, and that you may not be able to seek redress under Australian law for any breach by that recipient.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
We will otherwise take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify personal information when it is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was collected, unless we are required by law to retain it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, as required by APP 11. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
What rights you have over your data
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you (APP 12) and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading (APP 13).
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact our Privacy Officer at sales@harbuch.com.au with details of your concern. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.
Children’s privacy
Our website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the site after any changes means you accept the updated policy.
